    Use this guide when inviting relatives, reviewing family lines, correcting details, or adding photos and relationship links.

    Request access and log in

    1. Use Request Access with your full name and email address.
    2. An admin reviews the request and approves or denies access.
    3. After approval, use Login with the same email address.
    4. Open the secure sign-in link from your email to enter the archive.

    Navigate the tree

    1. Open Tree to view families from the oldest known generation downward.
    2. Choose a surname branch to focus that family and its connected spouses.
    3. Use All to see the full connected tree across all branches.
    4. Scroll up or down to zoom. Scroll left or right to move sideways.
    5. Click and drag empty space in the tree to pan around large sections.

    Open and edit a person

    1. Click any person card to open their details panel on the right.
    2. Use Edit Profile to correct names, dates, places, notes, tags, and sources.
    3. Use Upload Photo to attach family photographs, or Take Photo to use an available camera.
    4. Use Add Story on the person card to add a memory or source note.

    Add or remove relationships

    1. Open a person card and use Add Relationship.
    2. Search for the related family member, select their name, then choose the relationship type.
    3. Use Father, Mother, Parent, Son, Daughter, Child, Spouse, Sibling, Brother, Sister, Step Father, or Step Mother.
    4. Relationship names are written from the selected person to the open card.
    5. Use Remove beside an existing relationship to unlink incorrect parents, spouses, children, or other links.

    Add a missing relative

    1. Select the closest known person in the tree first.
    2. Use Add Relative on that person's card.
    3. Choose whether the new person is a child, parent, spouse, or not directly linked yet.
    4. Add dates, places, branch, generation, and a short story if known.
    5. Save first, then open the new card to add more relationship links or photos.

    Admin and change tracking

    1. Admins use Admin to approve, deny, or remove user accounts.
    2. New requests send an email notification to the admin.
    3. Approved or denied users receive an email update.
    4. Updates shows recent edits, uploads, registrations, and admin actions.
    5. Export JSON can save a copy of the current archive data.
    Editing tip

    Add what you know, even if it is incomplete. Use story notes and source records to mark uncertain details so another relative can confirm them later.
